Performing & Production Arts Diploma Level 2
This is a practical course which introduces you to many areas of performance including acting, technical theatre and elements of dance.
Entry requirements
A minimum of 4 subjects at grade 3 ideally including English and Maths.
What will I study?
You will be introduced to many areas of performance, but in particular acting, technical theatre and elements of dance. With practical skills and knowledge from these, you will develop and prepare towards your own individual needs and progression pathways.
Over the year practical work and assignments will include a range of projects drawn from core and specialist units.
The programme may also include GCSE/Functional Skills Maths and English as appropriate for Level 3 progression requirement.
Method of delivery
You will typically be in College three days per week. All units will be taught in a classroom/workshop environment. Students will also study English and maths where relevant.
How will I be assessed?
There is continuous assessment of project/assignments throughout the programme. These may include performances, presentations, practical or written work. The course is primarily a practical one, consisting of 70% practical work and 30% written work. All units are assessed and an overall grade for the course will be awarded.
Good course combinations
This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, Apprenticeship or A Level programmes.
Your next steps
Students who achieve a Merit grade can look to move onto a Level 3 pathway in either Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre or Backstage Arts.
