This A Level helps students to understand the responsibilities of the Accountant and the impacts of their recommendations on the business and the wider environment.

This A Level is a useful qualification, whether used professionally or personally, and an excellent complementary subject to Business, Economics, Maths or Core Maths.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSE subjects at grade 5 or above with English Language at grade 4 or above. For this course, students must have a grade 5 in GCSE English and Maths.

What will I study?

Students will build knowledge and understanding of key concepts, principles and techniques of accounting that they can apply to real-life scenarios, developing the ability to solve problems logically, analyse data methodically, make reasoned choices and communicate their findings effectively.

Course content includes analysis and evaluation of financial information, budgeting, accounting for limited companies, capital investment appraisal, and preparation of financial statements.

Students gain skills and knowledge that prepare them for work in the accounting and finance sector and for a range of business, management and finance courses at university.

    Method of delivery

    You will be in College four days a week, with your studies being classroom based; there is no online delivery on this course.

    How will I be assessed?

    Two 3 hour exams at the end of Year Two.

    This subject combines well with Business, Economics, Maths or Core Maths.

    Upon completion of A Level Accounting, you will be prepared for further study at university or to explore options to study professional qualifications in Accounting such as AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIOT.
