CIPD Certificate in People Practices Level 3
The Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice is an ideal qualification for those who wish to embark in a career in human resources or people practices. This qualification is designed for learners aged 19+ who want to learn about people practice. It is an interesting course that relates legal frameworks and HR theory, to real-life issues and current trends in HR.
It is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and on successful completion of CIPD Foundation Certificate qualification, you will gain associate professional membership.
This entry-level qualification is perfectly suited to learners who:
- Are studying, aspiring to, or embarking on a career in people practice
- Are working in a people practice support role and wish to develop their knowledge and deliver immediate and short-term value for their organisation
- Wish to develop the specialist knowledge, skills and understanding required to be a people professional
Completion of this qualification will provide you with a solid grounding in People Practice, the knowledge, skills and behaviours to deliver tasks that benefit your organisation at an operational level and the confidence to support positive change for your colleagues and organisation.
Entry requirements
Applicants do not need any specific experience or qualifications to enrol on this Foundation Level HR course. It's perfect for those who are new to HR, currently working in an HR support role (such as HR Admin or HR Assistant) or those looking to retrain in a new profession. It is recommended that students hold GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade 4.
As this is a professional qualification, we recommend that you hold GCSE English and Maths at L2. However, if you do not have these qualifications, please contact us for a discussion as it may still be possible for you to join the course. The CIPD has a policy for students where English is not their first language that gives guidance on appropriate English language entry requirements.

Course units
These are the typical units you will study over the duration of the course:
- Business Culture and Change in Context
- Principles of Analytics
- Core Behaviours for People Professionals
- Essentials of People Practice
Assessments
Students should allow themselves time to study outside of the course too. The amount may vary depending upon the ability of the student, the level of the course, previous knowledge and speed of working. Homework will be set weekly and you are required to complete an assignment to demonstrates that you have met all the outcomes for each unit.
Assignments may include using both written and practical skills. All units must be completed successfully for you to obtain your certificate.

Course progression
On completion of your Level 3, you can progress to the Level 5 CIPD Diploma in People Management, which will further enhance your skills and career opportunities.

Study methods
Delivery of this course will be on campus, face to face, for one day per week.
