Esports Extended Diploma Level 3
This course is aimed at individuals who want to progress into employment in the esports industry, possibly via an apprenticeship, or who may aspire to enter higher education. The qualification is endorsed by the British Esports Association as being suitable for those who want to work in the industry. This means that it will be recognised by employers and will support entry into the industry in a range of roles.
Entry requirements
A minimum of 4 GCSE subjects at grade 4 or above including English and Maths.
What will I study?
The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Esports includes the units:
- Introduction to Esports
- Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis
- Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the Esports Industry
- Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports Players
- Esports Events
- Producing an Esports Brand
- Video Production
- Esports Coaching
- Nutrition for Esports Performance
The mandatory content allows you to develop your technical skills across the different unit areas, supported by underpinning knowledge, and provides the opportunity for you to relate these to the Esports industry.
Additional costs
Course materials required include notepad and pens, or a laptop if accessible. Those who are part of the Esports Development Centre will need to pay a fee for kit. For further information please speak to our tutors at open events and guidance discussions.
Method of delivery
You will typically be in College three or four days per week. This course is delivered through a variety of teaching and learning methods in a range of environments to support the delivery of all units on programme and maximise your experience. You will have access to our Esports Suite and Athletic Suite as well as classroom and ICT suites throughout your studies.
How will I be assessed?
All assessments are internally assessed. These assessments will be a mixture of coursework, presentations and practical deliveries.
The Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis unit and the Esports Events unit are synoptic assessments.
Good course combinations
This is a full-time course. It is not possible to combine this course with other Vocational, T Level, Apprenticeship or A Level programmes.
