TQUK Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness
Learners will look at what mental health means, the effects mental health can have on individuals and on society, the current responses to mental health and the relationship between cultural diversity and mental health issues.

Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Course units
Develop an Awareness of Mental Health is split into 4 sections:
- Section 1: What is meant by mental health?
- Section 2: The social and personal effects of mental ill health
- Section 3: The responses to mental health issues
- Section 4: Cultural diversity in relation to mental health issues
Additional information
All materials are provided for you to complete the course. However, you will need access to a PC/laptop and suitable Wi-Fi to access teaching and learning.

Total qualification time: 30 hours

*Most students over the age of 19 will be able to study these courses for free, however, please contact us if you’re aged 19-23 and do not yet have a full Level 2 qualification (five GCSEs grade 9-4/A*-C, NVQ Level 2 or higher) as additional eligibility criteria may apply.

Qualification outcome
TQUK Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness.
Students could then progress to the TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Problems.
