Cookery School: A Culinary Tour of Sicily
Join our Head Chef, Gio Achenza, for a culinary tour of the Italian island of Sicily.
During this one-day cooking class, Gio will guide you through the process of how to recreate the perfect 3 course Sicilian feast at home - just in time for Valentine’s Day – as you recreate favourite Italian dishes with a Sicilian twist. Following demonstrations from Gio, you will work in our professional standard training kitchens to prepare a primo (pasta dish) a secondo (main course) and a dolce (dessert) inspired by the cuisine of Sicily.
Throughout the day, Gio will give hints and tips on producing authentic Sicilian cuisine and you will have the opportunity to try a range of regional ingredients and produce before enjoying your Italian delicacies over lunch, which will be provided in Ashfields restaurant. All other items produced can be taken home for you to enjoy or share.
Any dietary requirements, allergies or intolerances can be accommodated within the menu for the day. Please contact Gio directly at gachenza@yorkcollege.ac.uk to discuss any specific requirements.
