Cookery School: Pasta Masterclass
Join our Head Chef Gio Achenza for a master class in producing the quintessentially Italian dish.
During this 5 week course, Gio will guide you through understanding and producing white and egg pasta doughs before working with you to prepare and cook first a range of simple pasta before moving on to more complex pasta doughs and shapes. Gio will give advice on how to pair the different pastas with traditional and regional sauces and show both the traditional and restaurant styles of presentation for the pasta dishes.
Students will enjoy weekly demonstrations from Gio and then work in our training kitchen to prepare, shape and stuff the pasta doughs before cooking their own pasta to enjoy.
From week 3 students will develop their skills further to produce coloured and flavoured pasta as well as speciality stuffed pasta such as culurgiones, which you will be able to take home to enjoy or share with friends and family.
Any dietary requirements, allergies or intolerances can be accommodated within the menu for the day. Please contact Gio directly at gachenza@yorkcollege.ac.uk to discuss any specific requirements.
